    Maritza had the privilege of working under the exceptional mentorship of Mary Ellen Butkus, Vice President/Art Director, and the guidance of Elizabeth Ball, President of TFI Envision. During her time there, she contributed to developing brand guidelines for social driven organizations and collaborated on innovative concepts for B2C clients. Additionally, Maritza conducted competitive analysis for automobile brands, further honing her skills in market research and strategic brand development.

    COA’s Arts Workforce Initiative was specifically designed to provide an opportunity for college and emerging professional applicants that aligned with their READI Framework (Relevance, Equity, Access, Diversity, and Inclusion).

    Maritza was placed at City Lights Gallery where she collaborated in fundraising and community relation efforts. She gained a comprehensive understanding involved in running a community-based arts nonprofit. Working closely with the executive director, she learned how City Lights’ vision—that art is interconnected with all aspects of life—translates into meaningful programs that engage the local community and elevate the cultural scene.

    As her internship progressed, Maritza's dedication and passion for the arts became evident, leading to her being hired as part-time support staff. In this role, she took on the responsibility of helping to manage their vintage shop. Leveraging her creativity and tech-savvy skills, Maritza spearheaded the organization's social media efforts by launching their first official Instagram page, where she implemented innovative marketing strategies to enhance their online presence.
